My Lover's Domain Poem by connie crane

My Lover's Domain

Soaring high above the cares of this world,
I look down and everything is small.
The wind underneath my wings is heaven’s love,
lifting me far, far, above it all.
Up here the universe is my domain.
An infinite kingdom over which my Lover reigns.

He has brought me here to show me,
That fear and want are far below me.
That my one and only identity,
Is infinite love, just like He.

I turn my eyes up toward the horizon,
suddenly all that is beneath me disappears.
Now there is only His love,
His touch,
His voice, that my heart hears.

“Can I stay here? ” I ask.
“Do I have to go back? ”
“The choice is yours.” He says.
“Reality is, there is no lack.
Do you believe? ”
“ Of course, I do,
Up here where there is only You! ”

“ Ah, that’s the catch, ” He says,
“You believe there is somewhere,
Where I do not exist.
You believe, that up here,
is the place, where only I subsist.

Open you heart beloved,
And you will see,
That there is no ‘here’ or ‘there.’
There is only Me.
The cares of this world are not real.
Guilt, fear, and lack are just the feelings that you feel.
But they do not define you.
I do.

I say you are here with Me.
I am all there is to believe.
If you seek Me you will find,
Implies that you don’t know that you are already Mine.

But you are beloved,
As you know,
So release them,
Let them go.
Then you will know, only Me,
And 'here’ and 'there’ will cease to be.'
