My Mark Poem by James Grengs

My Mark

Rating: 3.0

I may stand here, among my friends.
They move, I move, we move-
Too fast, for around us the world slips by.
Friends, loved ones, enemies, unknowns.
The myriad of people, who might have impacted
My life; I might have impacted theirs.
But no, for I move by too fast for
The ties that might have had time to take root.
To slow down, then, would be a blessing to all.
Take a breath,
Make a friend.
Take another,
Touch a life.
I must not let my life slip by
Without leaving my mark on
Others and the world.
