My Memory Poem by Max D. Hornbogen

My Memory

My memory is very haunting to me, a past that I want to forget.
Would you let me forget the pain, I do not want to feel this anymore.

I have walked a lot of roads, some of them are too long for me to handle
anymore.

This memory is all I have of you, let this be the last memory of you.
I shed tears from time to time, only to feel the pain once again.

So would somebody take me away, to somwhere far away?
Only this image of you in my head is haunting me, I just want to forget what I remember of you.

Why does it not go away, this hole in me needs to be filled with light.
Seems like this memory will not go away, just only a haunting image of you remains.

All I see is my own reflection staring right back at me.
I have reasons to forget you...(would you please stop haunting me)

So I will see you again someday, but not too soon...I will be by your side forever in time.

Let your memory be a dust in the wind, so just pass on by.
