My Midnight Ride Poem by Kendra Evans

My Midnight Ride

My Midnight Ride

Awaken at midnight,
with a feeling that something ain't right.
With dad raging with anger,
giving me the feeling that he was a stranger.
Getting in the car with all my might,
hoping that the car won't disappear from sight.
Daddy, daddy, where are we going?
He's driving so fast and not even knowing
I feel our speed is getting faster
Now I'm screaming like a barking dog
for his master.

Awaken at the stroke of noon
with a headache greater than the moon.
Found out we were in a crash
and daddy's car is totally smashed.
This has taken all of daddy's pride,
And that's what happened on
My Midnight Ride
