My Mind Becomes The Lines I Remember Poem by Shalom Freedman

My Mind Becomes The Lines I Remember

MY MIND BECOMES THE LINES I REMEMBER

My mind becomes the lines I remember
I repeat them over and over
I hear them inside myself
Again and again.

My mind becomes the lines I remember
Until
I can no longer bear to be still-
And I hear other lines
Writing themselves within me
And calling themselves ‘My poem’.
