My Mirror Poem by Monique Mendoza

My Mirror

Rating: 5.0

‘Tis mirror I see, come back to me,
to that first bloom of young nature’s tree.
The first sunrise you came to see,
From my very womb, you were set free.

Now that time had just intervened,
that I myself now need your cradle,
though I’m aware of your own to cuddle,
selfish I may seem, it’s for last to you I’ll lean.

So ‘tis mirror I see, come back to me,
to all those times,
to all my whines
hither to satisfy my plea.

Lend for once your hands again
that I may cruise the room to pee
my jello limbs are so hard to bend
a faithful someone’s good to see.

‘Tis mirror I see, please come back to me.
Before the last sun sets on my eyes,
My body shall finally fully lie,
And all our memories shall never flee.
