My Mother, My Grandma, And Me Poem by Betty Best

My Mother, My Grandma, And Me

Rating: 5.0

When she was just a teen herself,
God gave her me to bear, But Grandma came and saw her pain
And said, "Child, I still care." She saw upon her gentle face
A look of hurt and fear. She stretched her loving hands to us
And said, "Come here, my dear." The times were tight, the road was dark,
The way was hard to see But Grandma came an prayed to God,
And he made way for me. Now I’m a mother, I’ve seen her tears
Felt her joy and laughter I hope to make her proud of me
Today and ever after.
