My Mother's Eyes Poem by Amy Pearl

My Mother's Eyes

I've looked into my mothers eyes;
I've seen a heart of gold.
I've seen a life of motherhood
Contentedly unfold.
I've looked into my mother's eyes;
I've seen a loving wife
I've seen a woman's devotion
Enduring married life.
I've looked into my mother's eyes;
So many times before.
The love I've seen within those eyes
I'll see forever more.
I've looked into my mother's eyes;
and hoped some day I'd find
That what I've seen in her eyes
My children will see in mine
