My Name Poem by Katusiime Jeresi

My Name

My maiden name
Will tell you to be grateful
To my father for whipping me
Into the fine steel that can
Withstand yourhand.

My second name
Reminds you am a song bird
That can belt painful notes
As the night silently stares
At your primal dance

My Mrs is a tag
Am bound to you
Denied a voice
So you can stand
A man through and through
