My One Constant

It's always there
Like a lurking shadow
Constantly stalking my mind
Affecting every thought
Clouding my judgement
I hate it
I become so weak
On my knees breathless
Heart thudding, skin sweating
Tears streaming down my face
I cry out in pain and disgust
As I feel my insides being ripped apart
But at the same time I love it
As at least I'm in control
No matter how much other things go wrong
At least I still have it
The one constant in my life
The love that never deserts me
So I cling to it's deadly bosom
Enjoy it's cold hold over me
For it's ever more painful embrace
To become an eternal one

For as long as you have it in your life, it will always control you...its simply not good for you!
