My Paradise Poem by Jo Traxinger

My Paradise

Rating: 5.0

As I walked across the desert
this vast barren land.
I noticed my footprints in the warm desert sand
The cacti and foliage were looking its best.
The birds were all singing and building their nest
I sat down to rest in the desert so grand
and counted the colors of each grain of sand.
All colors of the rainbow so sparkling and bright
I wondered of the beauty in the desert at night
I gazed at the stars and the full round moon.
I must leave this sandy paradise and head home
I'll come back tomorrow to the desert so grand
Just to see the beauty in each grain of sand.
