My Place - Poem by Karissa Earley

Why does this keep happening,
everytime i try.
i just keep breaking more,
with every tear i cry.

Why cant i just be happy,
why cant i stop this rain?
im tierd of carrying this weight,
ive been dealt the card of pain.

i shed blood from my eyes,
as i sew my lips shut.
words i shall not speak,
the blood shall be enough.

a heart i have no more,
but still i feel it beating.
slowing as it stops,
i fall as its depleating.

As my corpse lies on the ground,
i feel myself still breathing.
i rip out my eyes,
to stop myself from seeing.

im laying there half gone,
as i hear my mother screaming.
they pick me up off the ground,
as she whispers 'let me be dreaming.'

so in her arms ill go,
as her warm tears fall on my face.
i know she'll be okay,
ive finally found my place.
