My Plastic Self Poem by Paul Olufemmy

My Plastic Self

Rating: 1.0

A life of conceit I lead,
Breaking free is what I plead;
I am a loner yet in company
Of none but self,
Everyone- I receive and cheer;
Rubbing off their every tear
But my heart is full of groan,
By grinning hide I it all.
I see the jester
Having a laugh of none but me;
I laugh it off;
I see the piper
Piping the tunes of felicitation,
Wonder I at his wonder;
The rhythmic flow,
I nod it all
But after the show,
As the stars stay to glow,
I step out of conceit
Unto reality
To behold gloom's muse

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
About that period, I was undergoing self-evaluation. It's interesting how little of ourselves we know in how much of ourselves we show.
