My Prayer - Poem by Josephine Chifundo Likoya

Heavenly King, Lord Almighty
I thank you because of my life, family and friends
I thank you for your everlasting mercies upon me
Please, give me wisdom to know you more

When my friends do me wrong things
I get hurt and lack peace
My heart pushes for revenge
It feels hard to forgive them

I fail to imagine your kindness
I sin so many times
I wonder how many times you get hurt with my wrong deeds
It's amazing how you never get tired of me
You always forgive me

Many times I feel ashamed
My friend did this to me yesterday
And I reacted weirdly
I have done same today
Instead, you have smiled and shown me the way

The whole world does wrong to you
But you are always there for everyone
You created me in your own image
That's reason enough for me to be kind to everyone
Please help me to be humble
Through Jesus Christ I pray, Amen!
