My Prayer Poem by Loushandra Wright

My Prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep,
and am grateful for all my blessings.
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
and keep safe all my friends and family.
I f I should die before I wake
and death's firm's grip whisks me away.
I pray the Lord my soul to take
at heaven's gate, for you, I'll wait.
No malice, no sorrow, no pain or hate
will be able to touch us in that place,
and forever we will dwell in God's grace.
Amen
