My Prince Poem by Aminath Neena

My Prince

Rating: 3.0

Through opiate eyes

I see his gentle face gleam

To unleash my sighs

Appearing as a lavender dream

As purple hue unfolds

Their scent sedating the breeze

An immaculate angel floats

Through my heart‘s gate

And I know he is there to stay

So the past has no state

When the future finds the way

With him I see no fancy hats

No glittering crowns or robes

No lamps or flying carpets

No time for love songs

But I am reassured of a solid love

Strong as a hovering eagle

Free as a gliding white dove

Definitely true and legal

Certainly bold and comprehensible

Blended with the purest royal art

A love so mature and dependable

Flowing from a burning liquid heart
