Verse 1
I went looking for an ending,
found a doorway instead,
one forgotten little heartbeat
woke another in my head.
Pulled a thread from yesterday,
thought I'd finally found the end—
but the Wandering Quill just laughed
and started writing once again.
Pre-Chorus
One picture finds another,
one memory calls its kin,
every time I close the cover—
something whispers, "Let me in…"
Chorus
It's the Neverending Writ,
where the endings won't behave,
where the words we thought were buried
come wandering from the page.
Greatest minds—two of a kind,
leaving footprints as they go…
Through the beautifully unfinished,
where the next thought starts to grow.
Verse 2
Found a heart among the fragments,
then another—woo hoo, two!
Turned around to put them somewhere…
there were suddenly a few.
Every picture holds a doorway,
every doorway hides a hall,
and somewhere in the Schlost Mess
there's a quill behind it all.
Bridge
Maybe finished isn't finished.
Maybe endings merely wait.
Maybe silence keeps on writing
while we're arguing with fate.
Maybe every scattered keeping
has been waiting to be found—
little footprints through the Betweens',
making one eternal round.
Chorus
It's the Neverending Writ,
let it wander where it will,
through the broken hearts and Keepings',
through the loud and through the still.
Greatest minds—two of a kind,
chasing thoughts through space and time…
And whenever we write "The End"—
the Wandering Quill adds one more line.
Outro
You thought I was finished?
…
But WAIT -
Writ again.
Wrong again.
For endings are beginnings
wearing yesterday's disguise-
and the Wandering Quill
knows better
than to ever say
goodbye.
