It's hard to escape reality.
Reality is a plot,
set to cage the innocent mind.
Blinded by faith
a just cause,
a lost cause.
With oblivion,
you were made soft,
soft as your soul.
Who's better than you?
My heart was made of flesh,
later shattered like glass.
Melted by the sun,
now it feels like steel.
But who's better than you?
I took a dose of ecstasy;
it opened my eyes
and my mind.
Now my heart wanders
through a land of lost souls,
searching for the reason
it became this cold.
But who's better than you?
I was resurrected
in the world's image.
Maybe that's why
I've become this cruel.
What a lost cause.
I am the reality
of an immaculate conception
they never told you about.
I know reality
is only a construct
meant to enslave my mind.
I am the moon,
the sun, and the stars.
Remember:
when the sun disappears,
the moon is there
to shine again.
I was before
Yes and No,
before Pen and Book,
before Suit and Tie.
So they can never define my fate.
I was before
the world itself.
So it can never
change who I am.
I am the sun,
the moon,
and the stars.
If the sun shines,
then my heart
will beat again.
So...
Who's better than me?
