My Religion Poem by wolfgang wiseman

My Religion

which is the true church?
there is not one,
so i am starting my own.

forget about the god that you worship.
forget about all of the institutions that prey on the weak-minded, the lonely, the foolish, the desperate.
follow my rule.
i am the second coming.

i demand regular self-reflection.
one must learn to internally debate every possible subject with an open mind.
preconceptions must be eliminated.
misconceptions will become an impossibility.
rid yourself of every thought and fact that you have learned since birth,
leaving an empty brain to start filling with perfect knowledge.
debate every subject until you have exhausted all possible arguments.
only then can you make a sound decision.

ignorance is never an acceptable defence.
it is completely intolerable to blindly follow the teachings of anybody.
accept nothing without careful deliberation.
narrow minds will not be accepted into my church,
only geniuses and aspiring intellects can join.
a lifelong process of self-improvement is compulsory.
i am perfection in transition,
so too will you need to be.

an overactive conscience is of vital importance.
this makes all rules and regulations redundant,
giving you the freedom to always be correct.
a fully formed conscience will set your rules and punishments.
laws are created to control the weak minded and weak willed -
by insecure, self-important, pompous, hypocritical prigs who feel the need to control other peoples' lives because they have had such little control over their own -
and are blindly followed by unintelligent, unimaginative fools.

any attempts to join my church will attract scorn and contempt,
and will be met with complete and utter rejection.
if you attempt to follow any of my words of perfect wisdom
then you have understood absolutely nothing about what it is that i am saying.
