My Rosary Poem by Harun Shukri

My Rosary

Rating: 5.0

And then....
My rosary splits open
scattering fragments of my dreams and hopes in all directions.
my index finger retrieves every bead that falls within grasp
each one symbolizing brief moments
and echoes of memories of days consumed
in joy and pleasure,
of weeks spent in agony and pain,
of Months plagued by loneliness
and years of prayers

Yet..... they claim
that a picture speaks a thousand words
blindely unaware
it never conveys the whole story
We all suffer torment of our own desires
tortured by our own longings
and abused by self-lust

My unrestful memories left me a key,
A key with nothing to unlock...
I don't know how it all ended up here
And so here I am
Awaiting God's signature
To exalt and elevate me
Higher and beyond.
