My Saving Grace - Poem by Shelby Lanier

Out of this turmoil
And free from the bonds;
Restored and renewed
And now carry on

The pain is released
As I give out a sigh
Realizing I’m free;
I have one thing in mind

I will give thanks
To one special friend
A perfect and kind one
That never has an end

Closer than a brother,
Healer of my soul,
He is my everything,
And I’ve given him all control

No longer broken and beat
Nor shattered on the floor;
I’m made new again
And it’s him that I only adore!
