I come to you
With a broken heart
Asking you to
Not be apart

I pray that you come
And refresh my desire
To be with you
And again, light my fire

My heart becomes burdened
Because my shadows are behind
Watching my every move
And tearing me up inside

I come to you once again
Begging for your care
Needing you to love me
And always want to be there

I stayed away once more
Leaving you and your joy behind
Not caring what you’ve done
Even after all this time

My troubles soon return
Filling up the empty space
That I’ve left for you to restore
And not turning back, to see your sadden face

Once again I return
Running back to you
Hugging and never letting go
Of the unconditional love, that you have for me too!

I never learned my lesson
Because this pattern soon continued
I ran away from your love
Then came back longing for you

But you never gave up,
On me or my mistakes
Because you still love
The one, who lets their heart continue to break!

Finally, after all this time
I’ve learned where I need to be
To never let you go
And let your peace overflow over me!
