My Savior In A Little Blue Cap Poem by Kristina Jordan

My Savior In A Little Blue Cap

Rating: 5.0

Story of a girl
Anorexic
Doing drugs
On the verge of running from home
A broken girl
With broken dreams
Her hard life only served as excuses
Younger then most for what she did
Fourteen and stuck in a rut
Sickly
Too thin
Dark circles under her eyes
Sex, drugs, eating disorder
She was about to leave home
Only to find she had a life inside her own
Thinking her life had ended
Falling into a deep depression
Realizing what she must do
She did
She stopped taking the drugs
Stayed home while everyone else was out
Started to eat
For the first time she tried to do well in school
With much help from her parents
She carried to term
In the hospital
Her boy was brought to her in a little blue cap
As the years went by
She finished high school
Straightened her life out
Loved her son
She doesn't care to think of where or how she'd be
If God did not send her, her baby
One day she'll tell him
How he saved her life
But for now
She'll kiss his head
And thank God in heaven for sending her
'My savior in a little blue cap'
