My Skies, My Rainbow Poem by Ivan Chizurum Ezeigbo

My Skies, My Rainbow

Rating: 5.0

My skies
This is my message to you
Waking each morning
You are the one I see first
You breathe on me and smile
I smile back happy to see you, yet again
We slept and you woke before me
But within you I know you have the sun
The rain and the rivers of the universe
Tell them to shine over her court
Tell them all to wake her with smiles
And to the wind
Tell it to bring her fragrance to my window
Let me feel it so long as half ten thousand years
And to the sun,
Let its radiance shone on her court
Let it follow her about like a stage light
Let it brighten her smile
Let her ambiance pull me out of bed
And to the hidden moon,
What shall I have you to do for me now?
Yes, when thou hast hidden to thine fullest
Jump out of the clouds before time
Before the evening and before the sun sets
Rest over her court and make it beautiful
Let her touch you and smile
Do as I say, my friends
And I with my telescope shall watch her to my pleasure
The rain, what may you offer?
Yes, you may rest if she pleases
And you may run if she wishes
Just do as she commands
Do the extraordinary she wishes
Make her laugh
And with my telescope I would see it done
Tell this to your residents, my skies
That all she pleases, that I please

Oh and to you, my rainbow
You are beautiful as she
You are colorful to make me gaze on
You make me admire her more than I have ever
You give me warmth and radiance
You make me her sun
You have been kind and gentle
But I have a request which you must do
You must bend my rainbow
Bend and dance in the skies
So she shall see you and cheer
Make her laugh so hard to feel fear
Make her grin so hard to feel sorrow
Take away her worries
Just like you’ve made me happy, do so to her likewise
Make her sit on you
Carry her to wherever she pleases
Let her touch you
Make her glad that you exist
Do this little favor, may you?
On course of these events, can you check for me?
Check to see if she loves me
Check to see if she’ll marry me
Take her away from her chaperone
Make her free
Give her, I pray thee, the leeway
Whisper to the sun to shone on me
Let her see me as her angel
Then envelope your arms around me
And bring me to sit with her
Bring me closer to her smile, my rainbow
I’ll wait for you whatever your replies might be
I’ll wait a decade and a century if it may
Until you grant my request
I’ll wait for you here, by my window
Forget not, my skies, my rainbow
