My Story Poem by rachelle blues

My Story

I have a story to tell, do care to listen.
I’m a young girl in love, learning life’s lesson.
You see I came to this town, to start afresh
Then he came along and took my breathe.
I didn’t expect it, not even at all
But he came to me so handsome and tall.
I came to this town, to start over new
Not even imagining I’d fall in love too.
I am a young girl, who has more than I could dream
I have the job, the life, and he seemed so keen.
Then at the blink of an eye, it was over, done
My heart lay in pieces, I sit here stunned.
This is not fair, not even a bit
I never wanted to fall in love, and here I sit.
You see I am a young girl, who wanted him bad
But he couldn’t give to me what someone else had.
He couldn’t have me stand by his side
Claiming to the world that I’d be his bride
For some time ago, another was so
And now his heart is damaged, far more than you’d know.
This man, just a boy, kept me quite vague
And to me his true feeling he could never outlay.
You see, I am a young girl, so loyal and true
Who would stand by this man, and see it through.
And then came a day, where I a young girl,
Made a mistake that would ruin our world.
I, who had worn my heart on my sleeve
Felt like he was no longer all that keen.
He distant himself, in more ways than one
Leaving me confused and abandoned.
I went out on the town, my friends in tow
I was in need of some fun, to let myself go.
I went too far, when my lips touched another’s
It was a foolish mistake that left him disgusted.
You see he gave me nothing, but expected it all
He told me I was free, but now won’t answer my call.
Alone in love, is not a love worth having
I am a young girl, who learnt that lesson sadly.
You see, I came to this town, not expecting much
But now I am in this town, Alone in love.
As I sit here, and tell you my story
My heart beats fast as I think of being sorry.
I didn’t want love, I never asked for this
It just came to me and now I must live.
My love is lost, in the undying world
Where long lost love, remains in a whirl.
Together we stood, alone I fall
It makes me wonder if I had him at all.
He gave me little and expected lots
Now I am alone with all words lost.
I thought we were strong in more ways than one
Now I do believe I have been easily forgotten.
How dare he be all high and mighty
And act like I’ve done wrong, I’m not done fighting.
I believe in love, I believe in us.
Why can’t he see it, and stop living in the past!
So as I write my story and it comes to an end
I not only lost my love, but I lost my friend.
My lesson to you all, wherever you may be;
Never wear your heart on your sleeve.
