My Story Has Begun Poem by Mystic Qalandar

My Story Has Begun

I turn the key—
not brass, not bone,
but the Word
that was before the gate was named—
and the door opens onto
the sunlit consciousness of the whole.

I rise from the black light of night,
a spark on the ladder of days.

Earth beneath my feet,
the Qutub hidden there.
I walk the road of consciousness
to where macrocosm and microcosm
regard each other
through one eye:
the whole cosmos
and me.

A breeze passes:
Rūh, command,
the breath no hand can hold,
that knows the unseen
as its own unspoken name.

My eyes burn
with the lamp of wisdom.
From the inner sanctuary
I loose the pure light of being.
Not I, but the One in me.
I see the Many
as veils upon the One,
as waves upon a single sea.

My story has begun,
though it was always written
in the turning book of the Whole—
and the Whole
is writing itself
as me.
