My Stray Cat Poem by ERNEST CLARY

My Stray Cat

I came home from work one day
on my porch was a cat colored gray
i gave him some food
now he wont go away
even though I say
go home and play
so I made him a bed with hay
just a place for him to lay
he needed someplace to stay
he moves with the speed of light
so I named him ray
now he sits and stares at my blue cockatiel named jay
i tell him to leave the bird alone
but he doesnt obey
I guess thats why he is a stray
