My Tears, My Words Poem by Besma Jemaa

My Tears, My Words

I need to write before my tears fall down
Helas, my tears preceeded my words,
Both of them are so dear to me,
But today I will let them free,
Out of my head and my feeling.
Here I am writing myself on this line
Describing how deep my grief is but that's fine.
Wait, a tear is coming down on my ink words almost alive
Well I will sweep it and that will be alright.
But here are others racing over my cheeks to the ground,
Come on don't be fast and spread all around,
I really can't hold them not even for a while
My tears are words to be written,
They are stories to be recounted, codes to be decoded,
A whole history to be unveiled.
