My Tears Will Tear Poem by Bamukunda Hillary

My Tears Will Tear

*
I towel my tears to date,
Of the tour I had on the tether.
I created a knot on the tether,
Of where my presence was for bidden.
But my eyes wouldn't see beyond.
Just like a ripe plantain,
It was past harvest I thought.
Drawing closer to the green pastures,
I created a knot on the tether
*
I visit my inner brains
Fighting hard not to believe
That the future I peered into
Has collapsed with the ceiling
This is not about accepting reality
But living with life hurting memories
Why is it always so?
Can't a heart be so free?
Free to detest love and hate
Before I genuinely remember
Creating a knot on the tether
*
The new day has been born
The news have spread like wildfire
I accept to live with the revolution
As I crawl to the river banks though
To add my dry tears to the running waters
The scenery restores my hope
That forever my tears will keep the river flowing
And no wind shall wipe them away
Not even God imaged creatures
As I unknot the tether.
