My Total Desolation Poem by Kevin Condron

My Total Desolation

Random thoughts appear and I dismiss them
Lying to myself, I carry on
A sudden pause brings moods of desolation
Knowing that my Dad has really gone

Days and nights ahead have no more purpose
Happy smiles shield sadness deep inside
Full awareness coming now to get me
Losing strength, I have nowhere to hide

Kevin, March 2011

In ever loving memory of Brendan Condron, My Dad
