My True Friend Poem by EMADABATHINI LAKSHMI VENKATESH

My True Friend

As I was to wake up,
You left me alone.
I await you, still
You didn't come.
My eyes looked
round for you, but
Felt depressed for
Your absence.
I searched every where
in the blazing sun, but
Could not find you.
I felt that got
rid off me, leaving
Me in the mid way
Under the blazing sun.
Still I ran every where
For you, the whole day.
As the day ends, I got
Vexed and was to sleep,
Then you came for my rescue,
Making me cool,
In the twinkling stars.
My eyes gleam with happiness
To see you again, making
The water in the oceans sparkle.
My friend, 'MOON' in the kingdom
Of 'EARTH' i.e., me, you are
considered to be my soul mate
For ever and ever.
