My Truth And Plead For Our Humility Poem by Javier Zamorano

My Truth And Plead For Our Humility

We fall through the layers we denied to have.
Is it better to have sleep and no rest?
Somewhere we have fallen deeply,
deeply lost to understand all the strings,
strings that kept you and I together.
I do not lie
when these words are spoken.
You and I,
there was NEVER no other
I desired to know.
Even the imprints that committed yours and my unrest,
they withdrew from our lives.
you gave birth something new to my eyes,
I am unable with you a single lie.
At times I smiled with sweet memory
all the ways you would smile,
and sometimes your cheeks would turn red.
You brightened over something I said.
Will these be the ghosts that haunt
the crevices in our heads?
I did not terry far the dream
of who you, I, of who we are.
I worked tremendously,
Tremendously we measure how these nights
are not the strength of who we are.
And who are we now?
I withdraw into all that you said,
and also the weight of all that you say.
Your words also have become few and loud.
These moments I could never be proud.
It was never a race.
It was never a race.
I hoped you wouldn't.
You did.
If there are winners
how will I,
and how will you be remembered?
We sow all the seeds of our own poverty.
If this be the case what more could there be to bother me?
I have forgotten me.
These layers and layers,
I know now will always be a part of me.
Layers and layers,
yes you still are home,
your home, layers below layers
you still rest inside of me.
My still spoken prayer,
for you to stand always
always,
always alongside me.
