My Voice Poem by Courtney Anders

My Voice

Rating: 5.0

My Voice

Silently in the night, I lay in the dark,
Lost in thought, of that fallen star
I’m thinking of my future, my dreams and all I’ve gone through,
Unsure if they define me and all that I do

When the night says hello and I take the chance,
My voice rings, as I sing my last dance
I sing through my voice and through my feet,
My voice defines me, as I fight to defeat
My music’s on
Turn it up
My favorite song
Turn it up
My voice vibrates with beauty,
It tells the story of song inside me
Just take a chance at singing,
Letting it go, my voice is ringing.

I sing my words of truth and life long experiences,
Fighting for the dream I need and all the interferences
I foreshadow my destiny and if involves my song,
Letting go of my strength that I’ve held so long

When the music feels the tempo and I sing the tune,
My voice releases me from my crazy cocoon
I sing for my present, future and past,
My voice shall define me and if it’ll last
My song begins
I sing
My voice rings
I sing
My voice is a gift from God on high,
He’s given me a purpose to rise
I take the challenge of singing my song,
Nothing shall extinguish my voice so strong.
