My wife name is Liz I love her you see
I met her when I was about twenty-three
She just lived round the corner from me
We married in the summer of seventy nine
The wedding went great and the weather was fine
We tried for a family it took a long time
The doctor examined us and said we were fine
It is now the January of eighty-six
My wife said she’s swelling and starts feeling sick
My poor little woman she went though hell
In the heat of the summer and sickness as well
September was coming excited were we
Wondering what this baby would be
The names we were thinking for him or for her
Both of our minds were just a blur
Early one morning about quarter past three
I heard Liz call out to me
We went to the hospital we thought it was great
The baby was coming we don’t have to wait
It took a long time thirteen hours or so
Then came our baby a boy we could see
We will call him Christopher happy were we
We nursed and we changed him and handled with care
That cute little bundle that lost all his hair
It was ninety two we had some more fun
Would it be a daughter or maybe a son?
September was here we remember the last
But this one did supersede the last
The third of that month it started again
We went to the hospital about eight am
The morning did pass the afternoon as well
Into the evening god it was hell
My dear little Liz she didn’t look well
Then came our baby that gave us a thrill
Then we found out it’s a big baby girl
The nurse asked did we have a name
We called her Natalie
Cause we both liked that name
So my thanks to Liz for being a sport
For giving us love and lots of support
