My Wife Poem by Roy Bain

My Wife

Have I told you you’re the most important person in my life?
Have I told you I’m so lucky to have you for my wife?
Have I told all the many, many things you are to me?
Well, just in case I haven’t lately; let me mention two or three.
You are the sunshine in my morning; you are the smile upon my face;
You are the lover in my evening, in your gowns of silk and lace.
You are the sweet scent of the flower that I stop to smell;
It is your strength that gives me power that I shall never fail.
Did I tell you when I found you; you were the object of my cares?
Did I tell you when I found you; you were the answer to my payers?
Did I tell you that I loved you, oh so long ago?
Well, just in case I haven’t told you lately, it’s time I let you know.
I love you because you’re kind to every living thing;
I love your positive mind and all the happiness you bring;
I love you, you’re my best friend, and that you’ll always be;
