My Wish For You Poem by Heather Rhoden

My Wish For You

Rating: 5.0

A shooting star
Streaking across the sky,
When I saw it,
I made a wish of my desire.

It was for you to change back
To who you used to be.
Not someone with a heart of ice,
The one nobody but I can see.

You gave me wings,
Then took them away
Along with my hope,
Telling me this is how you're going to stay.

You know it's wrong,
So why is it the truth you deny?
Giving up without a thought
Of even trying.

I know it is just a dream
Never to come true,
Just like I know a wish
Will never change you.
