Mystique Poem by Maria Makeski

Mystique

A woman on a picture
Her face is covered
With a large chapeau
Her lips widened
With a red lipstick,

Is she a mask,
Or a real persona?
Is she a witch,
Or a first class dama?
No evidence,
No tests can be provided...
The picture
Is two-dimensional
And one-sided,
Her name
Dares not to appear,
And she will not
Show her identity
Even if the world disappears.

She causes no harm,
Beneath she speaks with charm
But what men will think
If I ask them to dream
Maybe she is nothing more
But a woman mystique?
