Nations? Poem by Buxton Shippy

Nations?

Rating: 5.0

Some speak of 'Nations'
Like they are inanimate
Airborne objects,
Void of spirit and souls.
'Nations' are peoples with blood
Running through their veins
And individuals,
Seeing the world through their own lens.
'Nations' are:
Mothers,
Fathers,
Sisters,
And brothers;
Even crooks and politicians
Oops. I double-speak.
No need to say crooks
If I said politicians.
