POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This came about after having a Near Death Experience involving a Traumatic Brain Injury, January of 2010. I woke up in hospital seeing with what I called "new eyes". As someone was approaching me, it was not what they were wearing that I saw, it was what was in their heart.
