The sun dissipates
into the mirror lake
like chalk in water
I lie on the banks
gravel groveling
to each ripple.
I see a tree
far, on top of hills
bearing flowers
then ripe fruits
but they begin
to wither
Nature grows
on top of me
watching dandelions
from below
roots digging deep
to find nourishment
in a fools errand.
