Nature's Luminescence Poem by Jacob Schnieders

Nature's Luminescence

Snow-capped mountains shine in the distance.
The sun rises, peeking over their pointed cliffs,
Illuminating a river rushing through a maze of trees,
The stream never once concerned about its path.

The forest gives way to endless pastures,
Covered in rainbows of flowers and bushes.

At midday, the sun burns brightly,
And the snow's precious facade is burned away.

Mountains are converted to lifeless rock.
Nature's ancient labyrinth is cut away,
Only to make room for man's.
The rushing river changes into a bubbling creek,
Never again to run wild and free.

The flower is still told it is beautiful,
Trapped inside the metal fences,
Trampled underfoot by careless beasts.

The tired sun finally takes its rest;
Man only notices the absense of light.
