Nature's Painting Poem by Shirley Harrison

Nature's Painting

I'm in a daydream right now...

I'm looking at the swans on the lake, gliding through soft ripples a plenty
having just seen a dove flying above
Sky as blue as can be not a single cloud in sight
I'm wondering how can such a miracle as the sun
transmit such hope
and happiness onto earth's platform?
I hear babies laughing
and dogs barking as the old man throws a piece of wood
hand in hand are lovers talking to eachother, that's a miracle isn't it?
and the green?
the green surrounding my whole scene
It's like looking at a giant emerald
I don't want to wake from this daydream
I simply want to wait for the magnificent moon
to make her nighttime entrance.
