Neptuna's Secret Ingredient - Poem by Saiom Shriver

In the dish
of tuna fish..
are dolphins who their deaths met
suffocating in trawler nets.

To every perch, cod,
shrimp and tuna
our prayer for you is
'buona fortuna'

May you be protected
by God, sometimes
called the searuler
Neptuna.

Poet's Notes about The Poem

Bona fortuna is Latin. Buona fortuna is Italian
Fish are obviously struggling for breath when they flop around, fighting for their lives on fishhooks or in nets.
