Never Achieved Poem by Durga Peethambaran

Never Achieved

Tired,
Ran the wheel of her progress
For the brains that let it run
Never turned back
To their own roots, tired now.
The wheel balanced
But broken, trembling with fear
Not letting her children down,
Ran..ran and ran perpetually
For the sake of her children.
She was aware
Of the days, dreadful but
The never repaired wheel embarked on its journey
Towards death
Killing herself achieving the progress, never.
Her children never knew
That her death would eventually lead to theirs,
Malnourished they grieve
Of her death, stood still they
Waiting for the day to come.
