Never Again Poem by natalie harwood

Never Again

Standing on your front porch
You won't look me in the eye.
I know something's wrong
And I don't know why.
You say it's over
And that it's time for goodbye.

I don't understand.
There was no explanation.
I wanted answers
But I was left in confusion.
I wanted to be friends
But you don't want to talk to me ever again.

I tried to act like nothing happened.
Like we were the same old friends.
I tried talking to you in our group
But your pride wouldn't bend.
Too full of yourself
To even comprehend.

It hurt me worse that you rejected me.
Now that it's over
I can plainly see
That you were never worth it.
I'll just let you be
All by yourself in your misery.
