Never Forgetting You - Poem by Tammi Celina Lyons

I feel so weak
I have no strength.
Right than left
Turns to a dead end.
Making friends
Turns to enemies.
Being with family
Crushes our hearts.

Every minute I take,
I think.
Every second I take,
There's nothing.
Every hour I take,
I'm lost.
Looking for ways
That once used to be,
Can never be the same.

Missing is a loss.
Hating is regretting.
Losing was a mistake.
Loving was wrong.
Thinking is confusing.
Remembering is a memory.
Reminding was a promise.
Promising is forgetting.

This was a time
To remember.
This was a memory
That can't be erased.
This was a reminder
That I can't forget.
This was a love
That I had for you.

Things will always
Be the same.
Things will always
Be a time to remember.
Things will always
Be secrets.
Things will always
Be a memory.
Now, so it will be.

Never forgetting times.
Never forgetting secrets.
Never forgetting you.
Never forgetting memories.
Never forgetting laughs.
Never forgetting your smile.
Never forgetting friendship.
And never will I forget this.
