Never Gone Poem by shelby eck

Never Gone

Rating: 2.5

When i was a little girl
my father said to me
'look to the sky, let him know,
the person you want to be.'

I said 'daddy i do! I know right now! '
'I want to be like you! '
and not a million dollars,
could change that point of view

He smiled to me and let me know
it would take some time
to be like him was always one,
really big goal of mine!

A few years later it changed a bit
i was not a little girl
my point of view was still the same
i still loved him, he was my world!

'i guess she just grew up a bit'
i heard him say on the phone
'yeah its hard to see her grow! '
his eyes drooped real low

a frow then came upon his face
i wasnt just the same
nothing could erase this time
my daddy, aint the happiest in the game

Many years then passed me by
i never wouldhave guessed
when the phone rang i said 'hello'
but a sobbing mother, said it back, depressed!

i asked 'whats wrong'
she spilt it out, my daddys past on
at that point all the memories
i realized were gone!

fourteen weeks i spent crying
not letting anyone know
im sure they couuld all tell though,
i just wasnt who i had shown...

untill this day i live my dream
im just like he was then
i go to his grave and have a chat
he was never really gone, in the end!
