Neverending Song Poem by Norma J. Rose

Neverending Song

Ah, farewell!
-Today I am leaving.
I will abandon my own thoughts.
And therefore I am left, imprisoned in reminiscence.
Nothing is visible anymore,
And everything is secretive again.
The cricks of silence are pervading the walls,
While the rage of this heart is seeking for the egress.
O for one moment of a smile
I shall endow a million tears on my cheeks.
Imprisoned in the mist of a time
I yield myself to the core of night.
I pave my being with midnight in aspiration for anchor
While using my touch to listen the cold treads of pain.
Today I am leaving.
And tomorrow I shall finally see, through shadow of a smile.
On dusty roads I am seeking for marks of traces.
Rescue me, confine me, I am a hostage of my own eyes.
Against these secrets I cannot crawl anymore.
With scratched soul yet I linger to fear.
Caricatures of these thoughts leave
Empty fragments of feelings.
-Today I am leaving.
I shall be wandering through illusions of this body
And yet, with a weary smile I bow myself to the moonlight.
I am seeking for chains of a return.
My path is a neverending song.
