Nevermind Poem by Jared Bradford

Nevermind

Before I start,
Nevermind
Because I feel like I've done this
A thousand times
But never in my mind
Have I felt THIS way
My thoughts just won't go away

It's like I keep pushing replay
It's like on ESPN
The 'not top ten plays'
But no top ten highlight
I wish I could be living the high life
But like Miller I'm bottled up
Instead of out
I let the throttle up
When is enough, enough?

These times are strange
It's a beast we cannot tame
It's doesn't help that it's got mange
But on it's own, nothing can change
Okay now rearrange
Nothing is ever the same
Except my label, I mean my name
Life can be a beautiful picture
If you don't forget the picture frame

Everyday is up and down
One day smiles, one day frowns
One day rags, one day crowns
Different sights, different sounds
If you don't yet get what I mean:
One days dirty, Next days clean
There's just no consistent
Unpredictable isn't it?
That's the one persistent
When will I be feelin' free?
Day 1, Day 2, or Day 3?

Each day,
Nevermind
Either way it's a waste of time
Up and down like the stocks
These times are old
Like grandfather clocks
And at the same time
I'm feeling cursed
And it gets worse
With every verse
But it could get better
When life gets steadier

Yes when life gets down
Get back up
Do not let the throttle up
Life has catches
Secrets are silent
So listen in
And from me to you
Thanks for listenin'
You could have stopped at 'nevermind'
But you stayed, so thankyou for your time
