My Wish & My Prayer Poem by Jared Bradford

Excuse me while my mind is racing
Everyday I'm wondering what position I'm placing
God please answer this one question
Cause everyday I just keep on guessin'

Never knowing if I'm killing or saving
Only one answer, that's what I'm craving
Not knowing if it's a real problem I'm facing
Or if its just my mind off racing

Some thoughts circling my head like gnats
And they keep coming back, like rats
Try to kill them off, they're not that soft
So I just turn my light bulb off

See, every morning that I wake up
My mind is already on shake up
Every time I try to come down
It's like I never hit the ground

All I'm asking is for peace
Maybe someday I will get there
Just needing a steady heartbeat
Along with my wish and my prayer
